Article by Erin Janus| This candid video captured by Tyler Mann, a filmmaker from Austin, TX, features a homeless man sharing his story of how he went from being a successful working man, to being homeless and rejected by society. “The hard part wasn’t going to prison, it was getting out and trying to be part of society again.”
Many people are waking up and realizing that we are largely disconnected from each other as a society, but it’s not every day we get to hear it from the perspective of someone who is homeless, alone and literally has nothing. “You’re one in a million, you know? You’re actually sitting down and talking to me. Most people don’t give a damn.”
“This man, Obediah, changed my life overnight,” said Tyler, the filmmaker from Austin, Texas who captured this touching video:
Tyler has created a GoFundMe page to raise funds for this homeless, aspiring musician, stating, “This man changed my life overnight. So now I want to change his. I want to shoot a follow up video presenting him with the cash and showing him that WE DO CARE. C’mon, let’s do this. We can get him off the streets.”
