Ben & Jerry’s Announce New Line of Vegan Ice Cream

Reported by Erin Janus | Feb 5, 2016

Ben & Jerry’s is one of the most popular ice cream companies in the world— selling ice cream by the convenient and tempting pint.  And finally, they have come out with 4 new certified fair-trade vegan flavors, using almond milk as the base instead of cows milk.  The 4 new flavors are:

  • ‘PB & Cookies’ vanilla with chocolate sandwich cookies & crunchy peanut butter swirls
  • ‘Chunky Monkey’ banana with fudge chunks and walnuts
  • ‘Chocolate Fudge Brownie’ chocolate with fudge brownies
  • ‘Coffee Caramel Fudge’ coffee with fudge chunks and a caramel swirl

Check out their official video releasing the good news and featuring the new flavors:

“Ben & Jerry’s Non-Dairy flavor creations are made with almond milk and so boldly loaded with chunks and swirls that you’ll get Ben & Jerry’s euphoria in every bite.”

Ben & Jerry’s say the cultivation of the four new dairy-free flavors are a result of the 2014 petition titled ‘Tell Ben & Jerry’s That You Want Non-Dairy Ice Cream Options’ that racked up more than 28,000 signatures.  Even Cory Booker, the U.S. Senator from New Jersey, signed it.

Choosing vegan is better for the environment, the animals, and often— your health!  Let me know in the comments if you’ve tried them yet and what you think, and you can check out Ben & Jerry’s facebook page here to show them some luv and thank them for creating cruelty-free alternatives.
